Antonio Meneses returns to Accademia Chigiana (8 Jul 2017)

Antonio Meneses returns to the faculty of the Accademia Chigiana in Sienna, Italy for 2017. As in past years, he will teach and lead several masterclasses. Additionally, on July 17, Mr. Meneses will be joined by pianist Pietro de Maria to present a recital featuring the works of Beethoven, Chopin and Piatti. 

Antonio Meneses to serve on jury of Queen Elisabeth Competition (1 May 2017)

Antonio Meneses joins the jury of the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels, Belgium. The preliminary rounds wil be held in mid-May, and the final round performances and judging May 29 - June 3.

Antonio Meneses returns to La Musica (1 Apr 2017)

Antonio Meneses returns to La Musica Chamber Music Festival in Sarasota, Florida, USA, where he will perform in four concerts. On April 3, Meneses will be joined by Federico Agostini and Derek Han in a performance of Mendelssohn's Piano Trio in D minor No. 1, Op. 49. On April 6, Meneses, Agonstini, and Bruno Giuranna will present Mozart's Divertimento for String Trio in E flat major, K563. On April 9, Meneses will perform two works: Schubert's String Trio in B flat major, D. 581 with Claudio Cruz and Hsin-Yun Huang, and Mendelssohn's String Quintet in A major, No. 1, Op. 18 with Cecilia Ziano, Agostini, Giuranna, and Huang. Finally, Meneses, Cruz, Ziano, Giuranna, and Han perform Schumann's Piano Quintet in E flat major, Op. 44

"The Wigmore Hall Recital" CD released worldwide (10 Oct 2013)

"The Wigmore Hall Recital", featuring Antonio Meneses, cello; and Maria João Pires, piano, has been released worldwide by Deutsche Grammophon. The disc captures a recital given by Meneses and Pires at the famed London hall on January 4, 2012 and recorded live. If features Schubert's Appreggione Sonata and Brahms's Cello Sonata No. 1, among other works. The Telegraph has awarded "The Wigmore Hall Recital" 5 stars.

Antonio Meneses's recording of Elgar and Gál concertos nominated for Grammy (24 Jan 2013)

Antonio Meneses's recording of the cello concertos of Edward Elgar and Hans Gál has been nominated for the 2013 Grammy award in the Classical Instrumental Solo category. On the album, Meneses's latest release on the Avie label, he is joined by the Northern Sinfonia led by conductor Claudio Cruz.

Antonio Meneses to perform World Premiere of Padilha Cello Concerto (10 Nov 2011)

Antonio Meneses will be the soloist for the World Premiere performance of Marco Padilha's Cello Concerto, November 22 in São Paulo, Brazil. The concerto was commissioned by the Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo, who will join Meneses in the permiere, under the baton of Giancarlo Guerrero. Antonio Meneses - Arquitetura da Emoção published in Portuguese (10 Oct 2010)

"Antonio Meneses - Arquitetura da Emoção" ("Antonio Meneses - Architecture of Emotion"), a new book by João Luiz Sampaio and Luciana Medeiros, has been published by Algol Editora. The book, drawn from interviews with Meneses, features his life story as well as his views on music, art, inspiration and more. Included with the book is a specially recorded CD.
